DESCRIPTION:
On vehicles with very high mileage such as Taxi and fleet vehicles the SRS warning lamp in the combined instrument (DIM) may activate and DTC's DIM-0003 (SRS-lamp. Faulty circuit) and SRS-00D4 (SRS lamp. Faulty function) are stored.
SERVICE:
Do NOT replace the SRS unit! The SRS system is 100% functional despite the SRS lamp and DTC's. If DTC DIM-0003 and SRS-00D4 are found with a permanent status the fault lies in the DIM and it will be necessary to replace the component.
If other DTC's such as CEM-1A56 or SRS-00D5 are found: DO NOT replace DIM yet!
First clear the DTC's and if DTC's returns continue to fault trace the car according to VIDA.
Also check:
- Extended-X relay
- cable chafing behind DIM and under the front seats.
Note:
Due the vehicle's age and mileage, this is not a matter for warranty.
