Stop, gear selector lever assembly, replacing

Removal

Removing the center console
Remove the center console. See Replacing the parking brake lever Replacing the Parking Brake Lever.

Removing the boot from the gear selector
Detach the boot from the gear selector. See Gear selector knob, Geartronic, replacing, 4T65EV-GT Gear Selector Knob, Geartronic, Replacing.

Removing the gear selector knob
Remove the gear selector knob. See Gear selector knob, Geartronic, replacing, 4T65EV-GT Gear Selector Knob, Geartronic, Replacing.
Angle the top panel with the boot away from the gear selector lever.

Removing the gear selector assembly stop




On earlier models, some gear selector assembly stops are secured using 2 rivets.
Drill out the rivets and tap them out with a drift.
Press in the 4 catches on the sides. Pull the stop straight up out of the gear selector assembly.
Angle the gear selector assembly stop over the gear selector.

Removing the printed circuit board for the gear selector assembly stop




Press the catches locking the holder for the printed circuit board.
Angle the holder out of the gear selector assembly stop. Transfer the holder to the new gear selector assembly stop (P/N 977 0855).

Installation

Installing the gear selector assembly stop




Install the stop for the gear selector assembly. Lock it into place in the gear selector assembly.
Install the yellow locking pin.
