Removal





Remove:
- the gear selector knob according to Replacing gear selector knob, AW55-50/51SN Replacing Gear Selector Knob
- the center console according to Transmission control module (TCM) diagnostic functions, AW55-50/51SN Description and Operation.
Pull out the pawl (1) with round-nosed pliers.
Remove the push rod and spring (4). If necessary, use a thin, bent welding rod to lift up the spring.

Installation




Lubricate the lower section of the push rod and spring with grease 1161417-9.
Install the spring and push rod (4).
Press down the push rod. Insert the pawl (1) in the gear selector.
Lubricate the pawl segment with grease 1161417-9.

Install:
- the center console according to Rear center console Rear Center Console
- the gear selector knob according to Replacing gear selector knob, AW55-50/51SN Replacing Gear Selector Knob.
