Checking for intermittent faults
- Activate the relevant injector.
A click should be heard from the injector when it is activated.
Is the injector working?
Yes - Fault-tracing information
No - Checking the connector
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the connector
- Ignition off.
Check the injector connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information
- To access or replace the injector, see Injector/pulse damper, replacement Service and Repair

Checking the connector
- Ignition off
- Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the injector which caused the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to be stored
- A click should be heard from the injector when it is activated.
If the injector is now OK, the fault was caused by poor contact in the connector.
Other information
- To access or replace the injector, see Injector/pulse damper, replacement Service and Repair.
Is the injector working?

Checking injectors
Check the cable between injector terminal 2 and the control module:
- terminal #16 for ECM-2300
- terminal #34 for ECM-2310
- terminal #15 for ECM-2320
- terminal #33 for ECM-2330
- terminal #14 for ECM-2340.
Check for an open-circuit. Check for short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the resistance between terminals #1 and #2 on the injector. It should be 10-20 ohms at approximately 20°C.
Check the cable between injector connector terminal #1 and fuse 3 in the integrated relay / fusebox in the engine compartment. Check for an open-circuit.
Hint: With the ignition on, the voltage between injector terminal 1 and ground terminal must be battery voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
