Checking the fuel injection system and components
Hint: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may have been caused by damaged camshaft control (actual value for camshaft angle deviates from the desired value). If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for camshaft control is stored it must be remedied first.
Check the spark plugs. Check for cracks in the porcelain. Check the spark gap. Check for carbon and other deposits. If uncertain, replace the spark plugs.
Check that the engine oil level is correct.
Check for air leakage in the intake system.
Check the function of the crankcase ventilation.
Check the fuel pressure and residual pressure.
Check the engine for leaks.
Check the flywheel for damage.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Start the engine.
- Select the cylinder which caused the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and check if the fault counter counts upwards.
