Keyless Entry - Remote Transmitter Missing 'D' Ring

DESCRIPTION:
KIR keys can be found with the D-ring missing (see picture). The D-ring can come loose when too much force is applied on the ring/KIR housing.
This TNN describes how to install a new D-ring and a swivel for attaching keys.
SERVICE METHOD:
Installing D-ring and swivel on KIR
1) KIR with key in open position.
2) Open the battery cover with a small screw driver.
3) Unscrew the screw - Torx 8.
4) Disassemble remote section from key section.
5) Carefully open remote from the front side with the plastic bone tool as shown in the picture. Open slightly to insert the D-ring with swivel attached.
(Mind the small plastic guiding pin in the corner section of the housing).
Note:
Avoid fully opening the remote section (inner parts might shift and dislocate)!
6) Close the remote section with the D-ring in place.
7) Re-assemble the remote section to the key section.
8) Re-assemble the screw - Torx 8.
Note:
Do not over-torque!
9) Re-assemble the battery cover.
10) Test remote function.
