Step 1: Preparations

Position the seat so that all the mounting points of the seat are accessible and can be loosened. Ensure that the front edge of the seat is in the uppermost position before loosening
the power seat.

Warning!
To prevent electrostatic discharge problems a ground lead (PN 9511522) must be connected between seat frame and a ground before disconnecting the power supply and removing the seat. Failure to ground the seat may result in injury from a deploying SIPS bag.

Step 2: Loosen the seat

Remove:
- two cover panels above the front seat bolts (B).
- two front seat bolts (C).
- two cover panels above the rear bolts (A).
- two rear seat bolts (D).
- wiring connectors.

Caution!
Make sure not to damage any other part during removing or tilting the seat.

Hint:
For better access, remove the seat from the
car and place it on a table. Position the table
near the door opening so that the seat belt can
stay in place.

Step 3: Installing the bracket with gas strut

Position the bracket with the clamp (1) around the
SIPS tube. Ensure that the locator (2) is inserted in
the front beam on the seat frame (3).
Secure the screw in the hole. Tighten the screw (4)
to 7.5 lb ft (10 Nm).

Remove the screw (1) between the seat rail
and the seat motor. Discard the screw.

Install a new screw (3). Screw until 5 mm of
the thread is shown from the gear case.

Remove the forward screws (see 1) for the height
adjustment.
Lift the front section of the seat.

Install the lower part of the bracket (1) on the new
screw. Tighten the screw (3) and nut (not shown
in picture). Tighten 7.5 lb ft (10 Nm).

Note! Check that the bracket and mounting for the
clamp are in a straight line.

Re-install the screws (1) for the height adjustment.

Step 4: Installing the seats

Caution!
Ensure that wires are not pinched or chafing when re-installing the seat.

Install seat bolts and tighten to 29.50 lb ft (40 Nm).
Re-install bolt covers. Reinstall power supply wiring.

Check the function of all seat adjustments, with
special attention to the height adjustment.

Check that the seat belt reels in/out in/out
properly.
