Checking power supply and ground. Permanent fault

Checking supply
Check passenger compartment fuse 24 (11C/24:2).
Check the cable between combined instrument panel supply relay (2/29) terminal #3 and passenger compartment fuse 24 (11C/24:2). Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check that the relay is not defective.
Check the cable between combined instrument panel terminal #6 and parking brake connector terminal #1 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the cable between combined instrument panel terminal #1 and combined instrument panel supply relay (2/29) terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the cable between combined instrument panel terminal #14 and ground. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary

Checking the ground terminal




- Ignition off
- Control module disconnected
- Switch off all power consuming equipment (courtesy lighting, radio etc).
Connect an ohmmeter between terminal #14 on the breakout box and the battery negative terminal.

The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms.
