Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off.
Check the connectors for the Suspension Module (SUM) and the position sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0031, rear left position sensor:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A28 and position sensor terminal #4. Check for a short-circuit to ground
- Check the cable for power supply between control module terminal #A25 and position sensor terminal #5. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0041, rear right position sensor:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A14 and position sensor terminal #4. Check for a short-circuit to ground
- Check the cable for power supply between control module terminal #A13 and position sensor terminal #5. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Hint: Click on the VCT2000 symbol to check the signal from the position sensors.
Try a new position sensor if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.
