Checking Radio Reception

Checking radio reception

Fault-tracing information
Troubleshooting analyses have shown that poor AM/FM-reception may be due to several causes. To perform correct action, troubleshoot first according to the following:
- Check that Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored for the integrated audio module (IAM) and follow the instructions that each DTC refers to.
- Check fuses.
- Check the cable harness and connectors. Poor radio reception may be because the antenna connectors are not connected to the window antennas. If there is no radio reception, this may be because the antenna cable is not connected to the antenna amplifier.
- Check the antenna amplifier.
- Perform a visual check of the antennas.
Replace damaged components.
If no malfunction is found:
- Replace antenna amplifier. Check the function.
- If the problem remains, replace the integrated audio module (IAM).
