Sun roof

Preparatory work
Removing the apron molding
The glass sun roof must be closed.
Remove the apron molding. See: Apron molding sunroof Service and Repair.
Adjustment
Adjusting the position of the rear edge of the glass
Install a shim between the rear part of the glass and the edge of the roof.
Use a plastic strip, 1.0 - 1.2 mm thick and 150 mm long.
Slacken off the 4 screws (1) for the glass.
Press the glass up or down to adjust (2).
The rear edge of the glass must be flush with the roof panel, or a maximum 1 mm above the roof panel.
Ensure that the glass is centered in the opening for the sun roof.
Tighten the 2 rear screws for the glass. See: Tightening torque Tightening Torque.
Adjusting the position of the front edge of the glass
Install a shim between the rear part of the glass and the edge of the roof.
Use a plastic strip, 1.0 - 1.2 mm thick and 150 mm long.
Press the glass up or down to adjust (1).
The glass must be flush with the roof panel at the front edge, or a maximum of 1 mm below the roof panel.
Tighten the 2 front screws (2) for the glass. See: Tightening torque Tightening Torque.
Finishing
Installing the apron molding and checking the sun roof
Remove the plastic strip from rear edge.
Install the apron molding. See: Apron molding sunroof Service and Repair.
Operate the sun roof and check that the measurements at the front and rear edges of the glass are correct.
Check that the roof hatch seals tight with regards to wind noise and water.
