Safety Information Pyrotechnical Systems

WARNING:
- Non-deployed pyrotechnic components in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) must not be deployed in the vehicle.
- Pyrotechnical SRS components must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.
- Never take electrical readings on disconnected, non-deployed pyrotechnic components of the supplemental restraint system.
- Always carry a charged airbag module aimed away from the body with the airbag or panel facing up.
- A charged airbag module must be placed in a suitable container when removed from the vehicle. The airbag or panel must face up.
- In the event of a fire at the storage site, the fire authorities must be informed about the presence of pyrotechnical SRS components according to the relevant national statutory requirements.

CAUTION:
- Components of the supplemental restraint system must not be exposed to temperatures higher than 110 degrees C.
- Never mount an aftermarket accessory on or adjacent to the supplemental restraint system.
- During temporary storage of the driver's airbag (SRS), it is to be placed with the metal side (rear side) down on a well protected surface so that the surface material is not damaged.


NOTE:
- For longer storage periods (unattended storage) the driver and passenger air bags (SRS), side air curtains (IC), seat air bag modules (SIPS), seat belt tensioners and other SRS units must be stored at a dedicated site in the original packaging.
- Loose side air curtains are always to be stored in IC brackets or other approved packaging.
- During transport, driver and passenger air bags (SRS), side air curtains (IC), seat air bag modules (SIPS) and other pyrotechnical SRS units must be handled in accordance with the national regulations for each country.
