DESCRIPTION:

After a software download (SWDL) or a programming session the Transmission Control Module (TCM) may send out an incorrect value for the gear lever position. This will cause some functional disturbances.

^ The engine can not be shut off** with one push to the start/stop switch and there will be a "Shift to P" message in the DIM.

^ Park Assist Camera (PAC) will not show the reverse camera image. This will also cause a PAC Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U040268-Invalid Data Received from Transmission Control Module

^ Central Electronic Module (CEM) will not activate the reverse camera.

**Note that the engine and ignition can still be shut off by holding the start/stop switch for 2-3 seconds.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION:

Beginning with the production of Model Year (MY) 2011 vehicles the TCM will have a new diagnostics that takes care of this problem.

SERVICE:

Do NOT replace any parts for this symptom!

After any SWDL/Programming session take the keys out of the car and let it go to sleep (this takes roughly 2-3 minutes). At the next start up everything should work as normal.
