Removal

Perform depressurizing fuel system Refer to: Fuel system pressure release Fuel System Pressure Release

Remove the following items:
- exhaust manifold Refer to: Service and Repair
- the intake manifold Refer to: Induction pipe Service and Repair
- camshafts Refer to: Camshafts Service and Repair





Note! Note the position of each component before removal.

Use: Suction cup.
Use: Magnet.





Caution! Note the position of the components before removal.





Caution! Take extra care not to damage the mating faces.

Installation

Caution! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Caution! Make sure that no fluids are present in the cylinder head bolt threaded bores.

Caution! Make sure that the oil galleries are clean and free of foreign material.




Torque: Sockets, cylinder bolt , 10 Nm

Caution! Take extra care not to damage the mating faces.

Torque: Cylinder headStage 1: 45 Nm Stage 2: 45 Nm Stage 3: 90 degree Stage 4: 180 degree

Use: Gasket solution, 1161847

Perform valve clearance Refer to: Valve clearance Adjustments

Install the following items:
- camshafts Refer to: Camshafts Service and Repair
- the intake manifold Refer to: Induction pipe Service and Repair
- exhaust manifold Refer to: Service and Repair

Perform cooling system draining, charging and bleeding Refer to: Service and Repair
