Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P034000
Condition
The camshaft is divided into a number of segments (flanks). There is a toothed (the teeth are located between each segment) pulsed wheel on the camshaft, which the Engine control module (ECM) reads via the camshaft sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The camshaft's segments are too few under a certain crankshaft rpm.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- Engine speed sensor signal.
Possible source
- Open-circuit on the signal cable.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Damaged mass air flow sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- Nothing.
