Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-P073300

Condition
The transmission control module (TCM) receives a signal about input and output speed from the transmission's two speed sensors. There is a determined ratio for each gear and the signals help calculate the transmission control module (TCM) gear ratio.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Gear ratio differs by more than 10%.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Fluid temperature over +20 °C (68 °F).
- 3rd gear is engaged, engine speed is greater than 500 rpm, accelerator pedal position is greater than 10% and the gear ratio is 1.556 +/- 20%.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 2 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Hint: Emergency mode in the event of a fault Emergency Mode In The Event Of A Fault

Possible source
- Contact resistance or one of the solenoids controlling in an incorrect manner.
- Circuit for the solenoid: SLT, SLC2, SLB1
- Mechanical fault in the transmission. Worn components in the transmission causing slippage or too low line pressure.

Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL), on
- General warning lamp lit
- Abnormal slipping gearshifts
- Rough gear shift
- No gear shift
