U010400 (Engine Control Module - ECM)

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition
The control module is continually supplied with necessary information from the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) via CAN communication.
The control module checks the communication with the Forward Sensing Module (FSM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No communication with the Forward Sensing Module (FSM).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Hint: If Engine control module (ECM) has been recharged or if the battery voltage has been interrupted, the brake pedal must be pressed down twice for approx. two seconds to activate the cruise control function.

Substitute value
- Cruise control is disengaged when the fault is active.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the communication cable.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Open-circuit in terminals.
- Short-circuit in connections.

Fault symptom[s]
- Cruise control/Does not engage
