Condition
A fault message is transmitted to the engine control module (ECM) and a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in engine control module (ECM) if a fault in the speed signal is detected in the brake control module (BCM).
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal are stored in the brake control module (BCM).

Substitute value
- Cruise control is switched off
- The speed signal from the transmission control module (TCM) is used (AUT)
- The speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) is set at 6 km/h (MAN).

Possible source
- Fault trace the brake control module (BCM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- The cruise control does not function at all.
