Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) checks the signal from the outside temperature sensor in the left door mirror. If the control module registers that the value from the outdoor temperature sensor deviates more than 25 °C from the value calculated the control module, a diagnostic trouble code is generated.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code starts once per driving cycle and first when the engine temperature is above 80 °C. Also, 4 kg of air shall have been used at vehicle speed above 40 km/h.
Substitute value
- The driving cycle's lowest value from air temperature sensor inlet (integrated in mass airflow sensor) is used.
- In case of faulty air temperature sensor inlet (integrated in mass airflow sensor) constant temperature is used, 20 °C.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in connector.
- Damaged outside temperature sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- Warning lights and chimes/Malfunction Indicator Light ("Check engine" light) indication/no indication
