Diagnostic trouble code information BCM-C004801

Condition




The pedal position sensor sends the brake control module (BCM) a signal indicate the position of the brake pedal and the speed with which it was depressed. The brake control module (BCM) uses the signal to activate the active brake assist (BA) function during sudden heavy braking.
Diagnostic trouble code BCM-C004801 is generated if the brake control module (BCM) registers a defective signal from the pedal position sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on and if the pedal position sensor signal is more than 4.85 V or less than 0.15 V for a long period of time.

Substitute value
- BA is blocked.

Possible source
- Open-circuit on the signal cable.
- The cables are short-circuited to ground or supply voltage.
- Improperly installed sensor.
- Damaged sensor.
- Internal malfunction in brake control module (BCM).
