Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SAS-C010029

Condition

The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is located in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) from which it is supplied with power. It is however only the Steering Angle Sensor which communicates on the Control Area Network (CAN).
Fitted into the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is a code wheel which follows the steering wheel rotation. Nine optical digital sensors and two analogue photo diodes read the code from the wheel. The code signals which are generated shall form a specific pattern. If the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) registers that the signal from analogue photo-diode 1 is faulty the trouble code is set.
The trouble code may be diagnosed when the ignition is on and the angle sensor is initiated. The sensor is initiated by the steering wheel being turned by more than 4.5° in either direction.

Substitute value
- The stability function is blocked.

Possible source
- Internal fault in the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS).

Fault symptom[s]
- The anti-spin warning lamp is illuminated.
