Faulty signal. Permanent fault

Checking Hall sensor signal

Hint: The motor should be activated when the check is carried out.








- Reconnect components, connectors etc.
- Ignition on.
Read off value.
Check whether the power seat module (PSM) receives the signal from the Hall sensor. Operate the relevant seat motor and check whether the value counts upwards and downwards as the seat is moved in each direction.
The value should count up or down depending on seat operation.





Is the function OK?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking wiring and components

Check the cable between the power seat module (PSM) #3D and the Hall sensor, and the cable between the power seat module (PSM) #4D and the Hall sensor for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault , a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check hall sensor and replace if necessary.

Hint: The sensor should generate a pulsed signal.

Remedy as necessary.
