Internal fault. Permanent fault

Checking seat function
Program in seat position 2.
Move seat to another position.
Attempt to move the seat to memory position 2.

Does the memory function correctly?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the control panel

Checking the control panel
Check whether the signal from the control panel is received by the power seat module (PSM).
To read off the input signal to the power seat module (PSM) for memory button 2, select Mem 2 from the menu.
Read off the value.

Hint: When checking the control panel, check if the resistance between terminal #6C and the terminal pin is 0 ohms.

Does the value change?

Yes - Checking the memory in the power seat module (PSM)

No - Replacing the component

Replace the control panel. See Side panel, replacing Side Panel Front Seat, Replacing.

Checking the memory in the power seat module (PSM)
The power seat module (PSM) has detected a fault in the memory. Try programming in a new seat position. If this does not work, the actual seat position can be compared with the programmed seat position.
As soon as the memory has been programmed the actual value should be the same as the programmed value.

Yes - Verification

No - Replacing the component

Replace the power seat module (PSM) according to Power seat module (PSM), replacing Service and Repair.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

The check is performed by checking the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status.
