Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair




Crankshaft Pulley Removal and Installation

Special Tools Required

- Holder Handle 07JAB-001020B
- Crankshaft Pulley Holder 07AAB-RJAA100
- Socket, 19 mm 07JAA-001020A or equivalent

Removal

1. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

2. Remove the front wheels.

3. Remove the front splash shield Front Splash Shield Replacement.

4. Remove the drive belt Service and Repair.

5. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and the holder attachment (B).





6. Remove the bolt with a socket, 19 mm (C) and a breaker bar, then remove the crankshaft pulley.

Installation

1. Remove any oil and clean the crankshaft pulley (A), the crankshaft (B), the bolt (C), and the washer (D). Lubricate with new engine oil as shown.






2. Install the crankshaft pulley, and tighten the bolt. Do not use an impact wrench.

1. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and the crankshaft pulley holder (B). Torque the bolt to 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 lb-ft) with a torque wrench and a 19 mm socket (C). If the pulley bolt or crankshaft are new, torque the bolt to 177 Nm (18.0 kg-m, 130 lb-ft), then loosen the bolt and torque it to 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 lb-ft).

2. Mark the bolt head (D) and the crankshaft pulley (E) as shown, then tighten the bolt an additional 90 ° (The mark on the bolt head lines up with the mark on the crankshaft pulley).










3. Install the drive belt Service and Repair.

4. Install the front splash shield Front Splash Shield Replacement.

5. Install the front wheels.
