Removal and Replacement




Starter Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure.

2. Remove the engine cover.






3. Remove the transmission dipstick.

4. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A).





5. Disconnect the positive starter cable (B) from the B terminal, then disconnect the 1P connector (C) from the S terminal.

6. Remove the skid block (E), and the starter (F).

Installation

1. Install the starter (A) with the skid block (B)

NOTE: Always use a new gasket (C).





2. Connect the positive starter cable (D) and the 1P connector (E). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.

3. Connect the vacuum hose (F).

4. Install the transmission dipstick.






5. Install the engine cover.





6. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

7. Start the engine to make sure the starter works properly.
