Rear Differential Removal

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. Drain the rear differential fluid Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement.

3. Remove the propeller shaft Propeller Shaft Removal.

4. Disconnect the rear differential harness connectors (A) and (B).





5. Disconnect the breather hose (C).

6. Disconnect the inboard joints (A) from the rear differential (B) using a pair of screwdrivers.






7. Place the transmission jack (A) under the rear differential (B).





8. Remove the rear differential rear mounting bolt (C).

9. Remove the rear differential front mounting bolts.






10. As you lower the rear differential (A) with the transmission jack, remove the rear driveshaft inboard joints (B) from the rear differential.





11. Remove the set rings (C) from the rear differential.
