Satellite Radio through May 2009

The satellite radio (R146) is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

- If control module is replaced, select replacement function for appropriate control module in guided fault finding routine.

Use the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) to do so.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

Vehicles with luggage compartment storage bin:

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

Vehicles without luggage compartment storage bin:

- Remove the left luggage compartment trim panel.

All vehicles:

- Loosen nuts - 2 - and - 4 - (5 Nm) and screw - 3 - (5 Nm) on Infotainment rack - 3 -.





- Tip rack into luggage compartment until nuts on satellite radio can be reached.

- Disconnect all harness connectors at the satellite radio.

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove screws - 4 - (2 Nm) on satellite radio - 3 -.





The satellite radio - 3 - is only clipped at the bottom in two U-shaped clips - 2 -.

- Remove the satellite radio - 3 - from the Infotainment rack - 1 -.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.
