2 Dust and Pollen Filter

Follow the replacement intervals.

Different versions depending on vehicle equipment and production time frame.

- On vehicles with the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head "Basic" version without activated charcoal filter element

- On vehicles with the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head "Comfort" version with activated charcoal filter element. There is also an Air Quality Sensor (G238) installed on these vehicles.

In model year 2008, vehicles with a "Comfort" A/C system will have a modified dust and pollen filter with an activated charcoal filter element installed as a running change. This filter with an improved interception rate for fine particulates has approximately the same air resistance values as the filter installed prior to the change, and for this reason will be installed in vehicles built up to the change.

Removing and installing => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Dust and Pollen Filter

Depending on the version, for some countries with high dust levels, a dust filter is installed at the air intake unit instead of intake air grille, which prevents dust and sand from entering the fresh air blower; replace this if necessary together with the dust and pollen filter => [ Fresh Air Intake Grille ] Fresh Air Intake Grille.

3 Evaporator

May only be removed when refrigerant circuit has been removed; bring vehicle to a workshop that has the necessary tools and in which the work can be performed accordingly by qualified personnel => Refrigerant R134a - Servicing.

8 Driver Door Vent

9 Right Front Seat Temperature Sensor (G345) and Right Front Heated Seat (Z46)

Seat heater (and seat ventilation) is not installed on all vehicles (optional equipment, introduction of seat ventilation is not yet finalized)

Activation of seat heater is displayed in measured value block of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255), checking => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

In vehicles with seat occupied sensor system, the seat heaters for front passenger's seat and rear seats may be switched off after approximately 10 minutes, without an indicating display in this measured value block, if the Airbag Control Module (J234) detects the seat is unoccupied (read measured value block of the Airbag Control Module (J234) => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 ).

10 Multi Media Interface (MMI) Terminal

Different versions and operation; depends on the version of the MMI ("Infotainment" or "Basic") and vehicle equipment => Owner's Manual and => "Infotainment / MMI "Owner's Manual.

Various auxiliary A/C system functions can be selected and their settings modified via the Setup button on the Climatronic Control Module (J255)A/C control head at the MMI terminal (different versions) => Owner's Manual and => "Infotainment / MMI" Owner's Manual

The functions selected on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and various other A/C system functions are shown on the MMI display => Owner's Manual and => "Infotainment/MMI" Owner's Manual.

To enable the selected A/C system functions to be displayed at the MMI display, the correct versions of the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and MMI control module have to be installed => [ (Item 11) A/C control head of A/C system ] Left Side A/C System Control and Regulation Components.
