Heated Seats, Checking

Heated Seats, Checking

If there is a condition that prevents the driver or passenger seat heating from switching on such as a short circuit in the connection to the seat heating element or an open circuit in the voltage supply to the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head, this will be stored as a fault in the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

Checking actuation of heated seat operation is described in guided fault-finding for air conditioner. => Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051

If the voltage measured at the Energy Management Control Module (J644) terminal "30" falls below a value stored in the Energy Management Control Module (J644), the seat heater is either switched off completely or its output is reduced to relieve the load on the generator (the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head reduces the duty cycle activation from 100% to between 0 and 90%) => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051. (the control modules exchange information via the comfort data bus system).

The measured value block of the Climatronic Control Module (J255) front A/C control head indicates that heater for front seats is switched on or why no activation is occurring despite a request => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

In vehicles with the seat occupied sensor system, the seat heaters for front passenger's seat and rear seats may be switched off after approximately 10 minutes, if the Airbag Control Module (J234) detects the seat is unoccupied (e.g., read measured value block of Airbag Control Module (J234)Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 ).
