Selector Mechanism Emergency Release from P

• It is not possible to move the selector lever out of P if the battery is disconnected or if it is discharged. The vehicle cannot be moved or towed.

• The shift lock solenoid (N110) will cancel out the lock when the emergency release is activated.

- Remove front ashtray insert.

- Pry off the cap inside the ashtray housing - arrow -.





• The shape of the cover caps may differ from those in the illustration.

- Press the cylinder - arrow - on the shift lock solenoid with a screwdriver through the center opening in the ashtray housing and at the same time, with the button on the selector lever pressed, move the selector lever out of P.





• This unlocks the locking lever - 1 - when the selector lever is in P.

• The cylinder - arrow - on the shift lock solenoid is sometimes partially covered by a noise insulation mat or a wire which must be pressed to side.
