Sun Shade






1 Glide Piece

Inserted sideways on sun shade.

2 Sun Shade with Automatic Retractor

The sunroof crossmember is removed.


Sun shade is pre-tensioned by a spring and must be secured against unwinding before removing => [ Anti-twist element for sun shade ]

Remove the adjusting clip from the axle before removing

To remove, slide roller to the side - in direction of arrow -.

The shade can only be inserted into the side that has the clip, which must be removed beforehand

Secure axle from unwinding using a piece of wire and lift out sun shade on one side.

Remove sun shade out of guides with sliders set off to the sides.

For the front sun shade, roller must be slid in opposite direction of arrow.

Anti-twist element for sun shade






Sun shade is pre-tensioned by a spring and must be secured against unwinding before removing => [ Anti-twist element for sun shade ]

- Bring hole, located in axle and in shaft, into alignment by sliding sideways after removing the clip.

- Lock axle and shaft - 3 - using a thin piece of wire - 4 - and secure it so that sun shade does not unwind.

- Now sun shade can be removed from roof module.

- If glide pieces - 1 - remain in guides, they must be removed and reinserted again before installing sun shade - 2 -

Front sun shade, removing

- Headliner lowered.

- Remove the sunroof crossmember.

- Push the adjusting clip- 1 - with the pin for securing the spring through hose in the axle - 2 - in direction of arrow.






Be careful not to damage the paint when unlocking the gliding piece. Use adhesive tape in this area.

- Remove the gliding piece - 2 - on both sides in - direction of arrow -from the sun shade arch - 1 - with a screwdriver.





- Remove the sun shade arch - 1 - from the gliding piece - 2 - in - direction of arrow -.





Remove the sun shade arch - 1 - from the gliding piece - 2 - in direction of arrow.





- Remove the clip - 1 - from the axle opposite direction of - arrow -.





- Install the shade - arrow A - and align both holes - arrow B - in the axle and in the shaft.





- Secure the shade from rotating with a wire pin as illustrated and remove the shade.





Installing the front sun shade

- Insert the flat axle - arrow - on the shade into the roof.





- Insert the other end in to the mount on the opposite side.





- Install the clip on the axle with pliers after installing the shade.





- The illustration show the clip in the correct position.





It is now not possible to slide the shade - 2 - from side to side.

- Position the sun shade arch - arrow - on the gliding piece.





- Install the sun shade arch into the sun shade arch in direction of - arrow -.





- When installing - arrow A -, the sun shade arch - 1 - must fit completely into the gliding piece - 2 - and lock - arrow B -.





Removing the gliding piece





- Slide the sun shade arch to the rear and remove it from the guides after removing the sun shade arch.

The illustration shows the gliding piece from inside the vehicle.

Rear sun shade, removing

- Headliner lowered.

- Remove the sunroof crossmember.

- Push the adjusting clip- 1 - with the pin for securing the spring through hose in the axle in direction of - arrow -.





- Remove the sun shade arch from the guides on the sunroof as illustrated.





- Install the shade - arrow A - and align both holes - arrow B - in the axle and in the shaft.





- Secure the shade from rotating with a wire pin as illustrated and remove the shade.





Installing the rear sun shade

- To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

- Install the clip on the axle with pliers after installing the sun shade.





- The illustration show the clip in the correct position.





It is now not possible to slide the shade - 2 - from side to side.

Sunroof crossmember





1 Cross Member for Sunroof

The headliner is just lowered and not removed.

To remove, remove bolts - 2 -.

Connecting parts at left - 3 - and right - 5 - remain in the vehicle.
