Rear Three-Point Seat Belt


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

1 Belt Roller/Belt Tensioner

Removing

- Remove lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ] Lower A-Pillar Trim.

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Bench Seat ] Rear Bench Seat.

- Remove sill panel trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Strip ] Sill Panel Strip.

- Remove the luggage compartment floor covering.

- Remove 1/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest without Center Armrest Component Overview ] Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest Without Center Armrest Component Overview.

- Remove 2/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest ] Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest.

- Disengage strap at rear lid bracket and remove rear shelf back out of mounts on luggage compartment side trim.

- Remove the rear lid end piece trim panel: FWD vehicles, refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, FWD ] Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, FWD, AWD vehicles, refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, AWD ] Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, AWD.

- Remove luggage compartment side trim. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim.

- Remove rear outer floor assembly anchorage point. Refer to => [ Outer Rear Floor Assembly Anchorage Point ] Outer Rear Floor Assembly Anchorage Point.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off.

- Disconnect connector - 8 - from belt roller/belt tensioner.

- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Disengage belt roller/belt tensioner - 1 -.

- Remove rear three-point seat belt.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Make sure the seat belt roller / seat belt tensioner - 1 - fits correctly into the opening in the bracket on the side panel - 7 -.

- Install the seat belt - 11 - without twisting it.

- If the belt roller/belt tensioner was removed as the result of an accident, replace bolt - 2 -.

- Make sure the connector - 8 - is installed all the way.

- Ensure three-point seat belt is not obstructed by wires, insulation, etc.

- Check belt wear detection.


Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

2 Bolt

55 Nm

If rear three-point seat belt is being removed for accident repairs, replace bolt.

3 Belt

For belt roller

4 Belt Roller without Belt Tensioner

Removing

- Remove lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ] Lower A-Pillar Trim.

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Bench Seat ] Rear Bench Seat.

- Remove sill panel trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Strip ] Sill Panel Strip.

- Remove the luggage compartment floor covering.

- Remove 1/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest without Center Armrest Component Overview ] Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest Without Center Armrest Component Overview.

- Remove 2/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest ] Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest.

- Disengage strap at rear lid bracket and remove rear shelf back out of mounts on luggage compartment side trim.

- Remove the rear lid end piece trim panel: FWD vehicles, refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, FWD ] Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, FWD, AWD vehicles, refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, AWD ] Rear Cross Panel Trim Component Overview, AWD.

- Remove luggage compartment side trim. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim.

- Remove rear outer floor assembly anchorage point. Refer to => [ Outer Rear Floor Assembly Anchorage Point ] Outer Rear Floor Assembly Anchorage Point.

- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Disengage belt roller - 4 -.

- Remove rear three-point seat belt.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Make sure the seat belt roller / seat belt tensioner - 4 - fits correctly into the opening in the bracket on the side panel - 7 -.

- Install the seat belt - 3 - without twisting it.

- If the belt roller was removed as the result of an accident, replace bolt - 2 -.

- Ensure three-point seat belt is not obstructed by wires, insulation, etc.

11 Belt

Connector and Connector Lock, Disconnecting from or Connecting to Belt Roller/Belt Tensioner






Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Removing

- Open lock - 1 - on connector - 2 - with a flat-head screwdriver.

- Remove connector - 2 -.

Installing

- Connect connector - 2 - as far as stop in belt roller/belt tensioner - 3 -.

- Press connector lock - 1 - as far as stop into connector - 2 -.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
