Removing






- With ignition switched off, disconnect ground cable at battery:

Battery in engine compartment, refer to => [ Battery in Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting

Battery in luggage compartment, refer to => [ Battery in Luggage Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery In Luggage Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Slide both latches in - direction of arrow - and remove the E-box cover.

- Remove the bolts - arrow -.






- Remove the relay and fuse panel B (SB) from the engine compartment E-box.

- Move the relay fuse panel B with the wires still connected to the side.

- Release the retaining straps - arrows -.






- If equipped, push the 26-pin connector - 1 - to the side and out of the engine compartment E-box.

- Move the 40-pin connector - 2 - to the side and out of the engine compartment E-box - arrows -.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.






- Remove the engine compartment E-box - 3 - upward.

- If equipped, remove the 2-pin relay carrier - 2 - under the engine compartment E-box - 1 - - arrow -.






The exact assignment of the engine compartment E-box can be found in the applicable wiring diagram.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Install the relay and fuse panel B, vehicles through 05.09 refer to => [ Relay and Fuse Panel B, through 05.2009 ] Relay and Fuse Panel B, through 05.2009, vehicles from 06.09 refer to => [ Relay and Fuse Panel B, from 06.2009 ] Relay and Fuse Panel B, from 06.2009.

- Connect battery. Required actions => Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Tightening Specifications
