ATF Pipes, 4-Cylinder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Plug Set, Engine (VAS 6122)

Removing

Rules for cleanliness when working on the DSG transmission. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

- Remove noise insulation - 1 - and - 2 -. Refer to => Body Exterior 66 Description and Operation.





- Place the Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782) at the separating joints.

- Mark the ATF pipes for installing the ATF pipe-hose lines

- Remove union nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.





- Remove bolts - arrow - for the ATF lines.

- Remove bolt - arrow - and disconnect the ATF pipe - 1 - from the transmission.





Disregard - 2 -.

- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the Engine Plug Set (VAS 6122).

- Remove bolt - 1 -.





- Disconnect the ATF pipe from the ATF filter and remove the clip - arrow -.

Disregard - 2 -.

- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the Engine Plug Set (VAS 6122).

- Remove ATF pipe.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ ATF Cooler, ATF Pipes and ATF Filter Assembly Overview ] 0B5A Automatic Transmission.

Replace O-rings.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.

When disassembling, remove all the plugs from the Engine Plug Set (VAS 6122) on the ATF pipes and on the transmission.

The ATF cooling function will not work and the transmission will be damaged if the plugs are forgotten.

- First insert the ATF lines into the transmission and radiator by hand as far as the stop and then bolt them on.

- Press the circlip on the ATF pipe and ATF filter connection; pull on it to make sure the circlip is correctly installed

- Check ATF level and top off. Refer to => [ ATF, Checking Level and Correcting ] Procedures.

- Install noise insulation. Refer to => Body Exterior 66 Description and Operation.
