Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module (J401), MMI through 10.31.2008

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

• Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

The navigation system with CD drive control module is located behind the left luggage compartment side trim in the Infotainment rack.

- Turn off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

- Open the left storage compartment in the luggage compartment

- Loosen the nuts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 4 - and - 5 - on the infotainment rack - 3 -.






- Tilt the rack - 3 - into the luggage compartment until the connectors on the navigation system with CD drive control module are accessible.

- Disconnect the connector from the MOST bus.

- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






- Disconnect the remaining connectors from the navigation system with CD drive control module.

- Insert two clips of (T10057) into release slots of navigation system with CD drive control module until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.






- Remove the navigation system with CD drive control module from rack.

- Remove (T10057) by pressing locking tabs on navigation system with CD drive control module.

Installing

- Slide the navigation system with CD drive control module in until it engages in mounting frame.

- Connect all harness connectors.

- Install in reverse order of removal.
