Intake Manifold Lower Section







Intake Manifold Lower Section

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Oil Filter Wrench (3417)

If the intake manifold lower section is removed or replaced, the intake manifold runner position sensor (G336) must be adapted to the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623).

Removing

- Remove the upper section of the intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section ] Intake Manifold Upper Section.

- Remove the vacuum line - arrow - from the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve (N316).






- Remove the IMRC valve from the bracket.

- Remove the oil filter - arrow - using the (3417).






- Open the crankcase ventilation bolts - arrows - a few turns.






- Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose - 1 -.






- Remove the connection - 3 -.

- Remove the intake manifold lower section.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the intake manifold runner position sensor.






Installing

Make sure the fuel injectors are installed correctly.

- Always replace both fuel supply line connections.

- Connect the connector to the intake manifold runner position sensor.

- Install intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.

Tightening specifications: Intake manifold assembly overview, refer to => [ Intake Manifold Overview ] Intake Manifold Overview

Tightening specifications: Fuel rail - assembly overview, refer to => [ Fuel Rail Overview ] Fuel Rail Overview

- Install in reverse order of removal.
