Defect Code 01

Defect Code 01:

Front parking light or tail light defective:

1. Are fuses and lamps OK? Are ground connections for lamps OK? Are wires from LKM to the lamps OK?

Replace defective part, repair faulty wire.

2. BMW 7 series - Check parking light cold monitoring relay

2.1 Remove relay K7 (parking light cold monitoring relay) or jumper (730i). Switch on light. Is battery voltage applied at Pin 4 and Pin 8? If defect found, check light switch and wires and repair if necessary. In country-specific versions Norway and Sweden, also check the relays K25 and K26 together with corresponding wires.

2.2 Install parking light cold monitoring relay (or jumper), remove LKM. Switch on light. Is battery voltage applied at following pins of the LKM: Pin 7, 26, 27, 26? If defect found, check ground for parking light cold monitoring relay and wires from relay to LKM and repair if necessary. If wires OK, replace parking light cold monitoring relay or jumper.

2. BMW 5 series -
Check light switch and wires from light switch to LKM and repair if necessary.

3. If all fuses, wires, switch and the Parking light cold monitoring relay are OK, replace LKM.
