Ignition Coil: Service and Repair




12 13 512 - Replacing all ignition coils (S85)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit
- Switch off ignition
- Remove left and right intake filter housing upper sections Service and Repair
- Release coolant expansion tank and place to one side
- Remove ignition coil cover on left and right





Unlock plug fastener (1) of ignition coil.





Pull off plug (1).
Pull ignition coil (2) up and out.
This procedure is applicable to all ignition coils.





Installation Note:
Insert rubber seal on ignition coils (1) between guides.





Note:
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
