Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair




Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Loosen the evaporative emission canister purge tube from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.

4. Loosen the evaporative emission tube from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.




5. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve bolt (2) and the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (1).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (1) and the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve bolt (2) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

2. Install the evaporative emission tube to the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.

3. Install the evaporative emission canister purge tube to the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.

4. Connect the electrical connector.

5. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
