Air Cleaner Upper Housing Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the mass airflow sensor wiring harness plug (2).

2. Unclip the engine control module (ECM) wiring harness (3) from the air cleaner housing.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct (1). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.




4. Remove the mass air flow sensor (3) from the air cleaner upper housing (2). Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

5. Remove the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (1).

6. Remove the air cleaner upper housing (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the air cleaner upper housing (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (1) and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

3. Install the mass air flow sensor (3) to the air cleaner upper housing (2). Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.




4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct (1). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

5. Connect the mass airflow sensor wiring harness plug (2).

6. Clip in the ECM wiring harness (3) the air cleaner housing.
