Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Open the instrument panel storage compartment door.




3. Remove the 4 fasteners (2,7) that retain the instrument panel storage compartment assembly (8) to the instrument panel.
4. Remove the 2 fasteners from inside the instrument panel storage compartment.
5. Partially remove the instrument panel storage compartment assembly (8).
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment.
8. Remove the switches from the instrument panel storage compartment, if necessary. Refer to the following procedures:

* Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement (Instrument Panel Compartment - Lamp Switch Replacement)
* Rear Compartment Lid Valet Lock Out Switch Replacement.
* Electronic Traction Control Switch Replacement in Antilock Brake System.




Installation Procedure

1. Install the switches to the instrument panel storage compartment, if necessary. Refer to the following procedures:

* Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement (Instrument Panel Compartment - Lamp Switch Replacement)
* Rear Compartment Lid Valet Lock Out Switch Replacement.
* Electronic Traction Control Switch Replacement in Antilock Brake System.





2. Partially install the instrument panel storage compartment.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Install the instrument panel storage compartment assembly (8) to the instrument panel.
5. Install the 4 fasteners (2,7) in order to retain the instrument panel storage compartment to the instrument panel.
6. Install the 2 fasteners to the inside of the instrument panel storage compartment.
7. Close the instrument panel storage compartment door.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
