Engine Flywheel Replacement

- J 45059 Angle Meter

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the transaxle assembly.

Important: Do not reuse the flywheel bolts.

2. Remove the 8 mounting bolts.
3. Remove the flywheel and the reinforcement.
4. Clean and inspect the engine flywheel.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the flywheel and the reinforcement to the crankshaft.
2. Apply sealant, GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent, to the flywheel mounting bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the 8 NEW mounting bolts.
3.1. First Pass
Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
3.2. Final Pass
Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts an additional 50 degrees using the J 45059.
4. Install the transaxle assembly.
