Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS With RPO UV8)



Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS with UV8)

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.





1. Disable the air bag system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in SIR.
2. Set the park brake.
3. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS)) .
4. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS)) .
5. Remove the console center trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (DTS) (Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console) .
6. Remove the I/P center compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Base and DHS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (Base and DHS))Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (DTS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (DTS)) .
7. Remove the left knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without RPO UV2))Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (With RPO UV2)) .
8. Remove the right knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Right (Knee Bolster Replacement - Right) .
9. Disconnect the transaxle range selector cable from the shift lever pin.
10. Remove the transaxle range selector cable from the shift bracket.




11. Remove the console bolts (1, 2) to the I/P.
12. Adjust the front seats rearward.
13. Remove the front console to floor bolts (3).
14. Adjust the front seats forward.
15. Remove the rear console to floor bolts (4).
16. Move the console rearward, in order to access the center console electrical connectors.
17. Disconnect the center console electrical connectors.




18. Lift the center console to access the Cellular phone electrical connections.
19. Disconnect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
20. Disconnect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).
21. Remove the center console.



Installation Procedure





1. Partially install the center console.
2. Connect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
3. Connect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).
4. Connect the center console electrical connectors.




5. Align the locating pins on the floor console to the I/P.
6. Install the upper console to I/P bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

7. Install the lower console to I/P bolts (2).

Tighten the bolts (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

8. Adjust the front seats to the forward position.
9. Install the rear console to floor bolts (4).

Tighten the bolts (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

10. Adjust the front seats to the rear position.
11. Install the front console to floor bolts (3).

Tighten the bolts (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





12. Slide the transaxle range selector cable fully into the console until it snaps into place.
13. Connect the transaxle range selector cable to the shift lever pin.
14. Install the I/P center storage compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Base and DHS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (Base and DHS))Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (DTS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (DTS)) .
15. Install the console center trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (DTS) (Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console) .
16. Install the right knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Right (Knee Bolster Replacement - Right) .
17. Install the left knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without RPO UV2))Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (With RPO UV2)) .
18. Install both the left and the right console trim plates. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS)) and Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS)) .
19. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in SIR.
