Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Parking Brake Cable And Lever Type Assembly:

. NOTE : Prior to adjustment of the parking brake the service brakes need to be inspected and adjusted. Refer to Brake Shoe/Adjustments.Adjustments

1. Jack up both rear wheels.
2. On hand operated parking brakes, apply parking brake three to five notches and on foot operated apply two notches.
3. Tighten adjusting nut until right rear wheel can just be rotated rearward but is locked when forward rotation is attempted.
5. Release parking brake and check to ensure rear wheels rotate freely in either direction with no brake drag.
