Torque Converter: Testing and Inspection

1. Start the engine.
2. Place the transmission in P (Park) or N (Neutral).
3. Run the engine at idle speed.
4. Observe the vibration.
5. Shut OFF the engine.
6. If vibration is present the torque converter may need to be rotated one bolt position on the flexplate. Remove flexplate to torque converter bolts.
7. Rotate the torque converter 120° (1/3 turn).
8. Install flexplate to torque converter bolts.
9. Repeat steps 1 - 5.
10. If vibration is still present repeat steps 6 - 8.
