Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Pipe Replacement (Exhaust)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt.

3. Remove the EGR pipe gasket.





4. Remove the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts.

5. Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt.

6. Remove the EGR pipe gasket.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Safety Glasses Caution Safety Glasses Caution.

1. Clean the EGR pipe mating surfaces.

2. Install a new EGR pipe gasket.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

3. Install the EGR pipe.

* Tighten the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

* Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).





4. Install the remaining EGR pipe bolts.

* Tighten the EGR pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

* Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
