Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution:
Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

2. Position the steering wheel straight ahead.

Caution:
Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.

3. Remove 2 driver air bag module mounting bolts and discard them.

4. Remove the connectors from the horn terminal and the driver air bag module.

5. Remove the driver air bag module.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the connectors to the horn terminal and the driver air bag module.

2. Install the driver air bag module.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the driver air bag module mounting bolts.

Tighten the driver air bag module mounting bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

4. Connect the negative battery cable.
