Shift Cable: Adjustments
Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment
Adjustment Procedure
Match the shift control lever correctly with the selector lever connection. Place the shift control lever in the P position. Verify that the selector lever connection is all the way forward. If not, proceed with the following adjustment.
1. Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement Removal and Replacement.
2. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement Front Floor Console Replacement.
3. Remove the air filter housing (2.5L).
4. Place the shift control lever in the P position.
5. Loosen the pinch bolt nut on the shift control lever.
6. Place the selector lever connection all the way forward on the transaxle case.
7. Insert the shift control cable into the shift control lever tightly.
Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
8. Secure the shift control cable with the shift control cable adjuster pinch bolt and nut.
Tighten the nut to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
9. Install the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
10. Install the air filter housing (2.5L).
11. Install the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement Removal and Replacement.
