Lower Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injectors and fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail Replacement (Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail Replacement).
2. Remove the lower intake manifold bolts.
3. Remove the lower intake manifold and gasket. Discard the gasket.
4. Clean and inspect the intake manifold and sealing surfaces. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (82. Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection).

Installation Procedure




1. Place a NEW lower intake manifold gasket onto the cylinder heads.
2. Place the lower intake manifold onto the cylinder heads.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the lower intake manifold bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).

4. Install the fuel injectors and fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail Replacement (Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail Replacement).
