Differential Bearing Replacement

Special Tools
* DT 49907 - Side Bearing Installer
* J 8092 - Universal Driver Handle-3/4 in - 10
* J 8107-2 - Side Bearing Remover Plug
* J 8107-4 - Side Bearing Remover Plug
* J 22888-D - Side Bearing Remover Kit
* J 25299 - Side Bearing Installer

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the differential case. Refer to Differential Case Replacement (Differential Case Replacement).
2. Install the differential assembly in a soft jawed vise.
3. Using the J 22888-D - kit (2) and the J 8107-4 - plug (1) for the 218 mm axle or J 8107-2 - plug (1) for the 195 mm axle, remove the side bearing.

Installation Procedure





Note: Use 2 blocks of wood to protect the differential case while performing the following service procedure

1. Using the J 8092 - handle (1) and the DT 49907 - installer (2) for the 218 mm J 25299 - installer (2) for the 195 mm axle, install the side bearings.
2. Remove the differential assembly from the vise.
3. Install the differential case. Refer to Differential Case Replacement (Differential Case Replacement).
